+ | :{{ping|Yug}} {{Oppose}} It is a good general idea to push for more contributors having the autopatrolled rights on Commons, and that is an obstacle we'll have to face in the future of the project. But I recomend that we collectively talk about this matter during the next online meeting (NB: not planned for the moment) before any systematic message like this one. Rather than asking every contributor here if they want the status, and then push for the vote on Commons:Requests for rights page, we could maybe initiate a discussion with Commons' community, to see if we can agree on a long-term solution.<br/> For the moment, I think we should rather just create a Help page dedicated to this problem, explaining it and how to ask for the status on Commons, and link this page in the Help:Main page. The priority is the Welcome template, that for instance you didn't paste on [[User_talk:BamLifa|this new user]]'s talk page. As a newcomer who only made 1 recording like BamLifa, I think I'd prefer a "Welcome!" message than a "Want to go larger?" one. Congratulations on passing 30.000 recordings! You're doing an amazing and valuable work. Thank you — WikiLucas (🖋️) 22:21, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you Lucas. Thanks for your work to improve LinguaLibre project and for encouraging others.
- Hello Titodutta,
- Same, I noticed your efforts on LinguaLibre:Stats : congratulation and thank you for your push on Bengali. That's impressive and a solid ground upon which to build learning apps in years to come. :) Yug (talk) 14:26, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks Yug. Hopefully these files will be helpful for some.. Regards.
Tamil ?
Hello, this Tamil frequency study (2008) came my way. I don't think of any place where to store this right now aside of wikipedia maybe ? It would be interesting to consider the creation of an "Indian Subcontinent Languages" focus group and portal/project page, to create a group dynamic and maybe some collaboration with leading academic institutions in the field. Yug (talk) 10:35, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
- Absolutely Yug. This sounds interesting. Perhaps we can think of something similar to WikiProject concept on Wikipedia, Wikidata etc?
Github
Hi there, I'am temporarily taking over the Github LinguaLibre group. I'am looking for an Indian relay to join in, someone who can smooth on-boarding for future Indian developers wishing to contribute. The task would be to be the Indian co-"owner" of the Group, and to grant access to Indian wikimedian-developer as "members" on the basis of trust. So it needs to know the Indian community a bit. I do it for French/Westerners. Are you or do you know someone who could be interested by this role of co-owner for Indians ? Yug (talk) 19:53, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
- Titodutta, I invited you to the Github LL group as member. As I checked out your profile, you don't seems to be a developer nor familiar with Github. So it may be more relevant to keep you as a simple "member". Your knowledge of Indian community and its potential volunteer developers will still be valuable knowledge to lead some onboarding as needed. India as such linguistic diversity to preserve, It's an interesting direction to develop in coming years ;) Yug (talk) 08:04, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- PS: I'am thinking about Wikimedian Tshrinivasan as a potential Github Indian co-owner. He contributed to LL back in 2017 and is very familiar with NLP, Github, and relevant R&D. Yug (talk) 08:07, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
- Shrini (that's his nickname) would be a good choice, he is a good friend of mine. Let me know if you want me to connect.
- Hello Titodutta,
- Your Shrini = my Tshrinivasan right ?
- I create new userbox template for your userpage. Try this out ! {{user records-ben|username=Titodutta}} ;) Yug (talk) 20:48, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- Ya, ya, Tshrinivasan :) --টিটো দত্ত (Titodutta) (কথা) 22:08, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- I contacted him and made it a member on Github around mid January indeed ;) Yug (talk) 22:21, 6 February 2021 (UTC)
- That's a good involvement.

Minor English help
Hello Titodutta,
As a French speaker my English is not always sufficient. Could you help me to find a better pagename for Help:Convert_audios? ? Would "Help:Converting audio formats" be correct and better ? Yug (talk) 20:30, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, "Help:Converting audio formats" or "Help:Converting audio" sound better. See naming convention at c:Help:Converting video or c:Help:Converting. "?" is also not needed.

Hello Titodutta,
WikiLucas00 and myself started to tag contributors' userpage with the {{User records-fra}}, {{User records-deu}}, {{User records-mar}}, and other variants of the template, and usertalk's pages with a Welcome template + small custom message. This is a first stone for the coming per-language-family community building. I question this approach. Aren't we French admins contributors taking up a meaningful team building opportunities from you and active Indian contributors ? WikiLucas00 and myself have agreed to "slow down (but continue)" on this action to allow Indian contributors to welcome new Indian contributors. Personally I use this Recent Non-Audio with a shortcut provided by the Wikigadget Recent Non-audio to notice new arrivals. Feel free to discuss this welcoming issue with us, we will help as we can. Yug (talk) 11:24, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
- User creation log is another option. I added a few welcome messages on user talk pages earlier. I'll welcome new users. I asked Subodh Kulkrani to add Marathi userboxes, which he has started to do. I'll ask User:Nitesh Gill to do the same for Punjabi. Regards.
Rate limits
Hello Titodutta, I just realized we haven't discussed the RateLimit issue. Commons limits accounts without "autopatrolled" rights to 380 uploads per 72min. See LinguaLibre:User_rights#User_rights_on_Commons. We have to do special requests on Commons to expands those rights. This is usually granted within 24 hours. Could you share the word ? Yug (talk) 12:30, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I now inform users who made at at least one session with 200+ recordings with :
Code | Result | Comment |
---|---|---|
{{subst:user ratelimit|user=JayashreeVI}} |
Hello JayashreeVI, your current userrights on Commons limits you to 380 recordings per 72mins. We can upgrade you rapidly via a request on Commons:Requests for rights. Interested ? |
Template is a work in progress and still unstable. Be sure to always use subst: and to check the end result.
